How to find the right carbon brush

Start with your tool's model number from the rating plate. If you have the old brush, measure its length, width and depth in mm and check the lead and spring style, because brushes that look the same can differ by a millimetre. Makita brushes also carry a part code such as CB-440 or CB-430.
